Ask the kiosk for a high-fidelity render of the street and it answers 402 — Payment Required, with its terms in the open, the way the x402 shape intends: no account, no session, no invoice after the fact. In this demonstration settlement is disabled — a simulated authorization completes the handshake, its digest is written into the service event as a field of that event, and no value moves, ever. A tenancy itself is never sold this way: rent buys the keeping, standing; per-request payment is only ever for marginal services like this one.

3 — counted from the kiosk's own event record at the moment you asked. The full log, with each authorization's digest, is on the kiosk's record page (admitted visitors only). Try the handshake: GET /api/kiosk/hifi answers 402; retry with the header named in the terms and it serves the render and writes the event.
